BNP calls 8-hr hartal in Rangpur for today

BNP yesterday called an eight-hour hartal in Rangpur district today demanding release of arrested party leaders and activists, including central unit joint secretary Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel.

The district unit of the party announced the shutdown starting at 6:00am at a press briefing at its party office where its leaders brought allegations of murder, enforced disappearance, and political arrest and harassment against the government. They condemned cases against Sohel, who was sent to jail on October 9.
