Biman gets new Boeing 737-800

Meghdoot, a brand new Boeing 737-800, joined the fleet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines yesterday.

The 162-seat aircraft purchased from Boeing landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 5:00pm, said Biman's Director (Marketing and Sales) Shahnewaz.

The airline is likely to get another Boeing 737-800 by next month.

"With Meghdoot and another aircraft coming in December, we will expand our route to Colombo in Sri Lanka, Male in Maldives and Guangzhou in China. Two aircraft would also help us increase the frequency and improve time regarding our trips," Shahnewaz told The Daily Star last night.
