Ali Imam elected TIB trustee
Former cabinet secretary Ali Imam Majumder has been elected as a trustee board member of Transparency International Bangladesh.
Ali Imam was unanimously elected at the 88th meeting of TIB Trustee Board on July 22, said a press release. He gave his consent and participated in the 89th meeting of the TIB on Wednesday.
Ali Imam started his career in government service through Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams in 1977 and held important positions at various ministries. He was also the principle secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, member of the Planning Commission, and chairman of Sonali Bank Ltd and Bangladesh Biman's Board of Directors.
The trustee board is TIB's highest decision-making body, which also includes Sultana Kamal, chairperson; Selina Hossain, secretary general; Mahfuz Anam, treasurer; and members Tawfique Nawaz, Syeda Ruhi Ghuznavi, M Hafizuddin Khan, Rokia Afzal Rahman, ATM Shamsul Huda, Dr Syed Manzurul Islam, and Dr Akbar Ali Khan.
