AL man, officials sued for misappropriating project fund

The Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday lodged three cases against four people including an Awami League leader for allegedly misappropriating over Tk 1.5 lakh of three projects that involve construction works at two graveyards in Chittagong's Lohagara upazila.

The sued are AL south district unit's member Omar Faruque, Lohagara upazila's LGED Deputy Engineer Abu Toiyab, Padua Union member Ayub Ali, and the projects' coordinator Nurul Kabir.

The cases were filed with Lohagara Police Station.

The three projects involve construction of boundary walls and walkways around Padua Bhiti and Padua Malipara graveyards in 2011, said an ACC official.
