The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday filed a case against three people including a former deputy director of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH) for embezzling Tk 1.88 crore.
According to the case document, the accused -- Dr Abdus Salam, former deputy director of SOMCH; Abdul Kuddus, former accountant of SOMCH; and Jakir Hossain, proprietor of Prime Enterprise -- embezzled the money by floating a fraudulent tender and producing false bills between 2015 and 2016.
Gausul Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said the case was filed with the police station by Mahbubul Haque, deputy director of ACC in Sylhet, as the ACC found involvement of Dr Salam and other accused during initial investigation.
