An abducted girl was rescued in Joypurhat town on Thursday, three days after her abduction from Taraganj upazila of Rangpur.

Quoting victim's family, police said Shaheen Hossain, 14, of Khordo Belaichandi village used to stalk the 12-year-old girl on her way to school since she rejected his love proposal.

On Monday, Shaheen and his accomplices forced the girl into a microbus and took her to Joypurhat. On Thursday the girl was rescued by her family members after they came to know her location secretly.

They also caught Shaheen and his associate Sumon Mian and handed over them to police.
