7 Jamaat, Shibir men remanded
A Chittagong court yesterday put seven activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir, who were arrested in Chittagong Railway Station area on June 23, on a two-day remand each.
The court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohiuddin Murad granted the remand prayer.
Police arrested the 210 activists from a hotel, run by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation. Though they claimed they had gathered there for an Eid reunion, police said they were holding a “secret meeting”.
