5 TV channels get info ministry's notices

The information ministry has sent notices to five TV channels allegedly for broadcasting smoking scenes in TV dramas from July 17 to 24 this year violating the tobacco control act.

On Sunday, the notices were sent to ATN Bangla, Ntv, Rtv, Maasranga Television and Banglavision asking them to explain the matter, official sources told the news agency.

Earlier, the Environment Council Bangladesh, an NGO, submitted a complaint in this regard monitoring the TV dramas broadcast during the Eid-ul-fitr.
