5 hacked by robbers in Noakhali

A gang hacked a family during committing robbery in their Gazirbag residence at Batoiya of Kabirhat upazila in Noakhali early yesterday.

Police said some 20 robbers, breaking open the door, entered the house and looted 16 tolas of gold ornaments, Tk 16,000, and nine mobile phone sets. They hacked Main Uddin Manik, his mother Monowara Begum, his siblings Fatema and Sohrab Hossain, and uncle Abdur Rob as they tried to resist.  The injured were admitted to a local clinic at Kabirhat. Police filed a case.
