5 Ctg DB men suspended

Chittagong Metropolitan Police yesterday suspended five members of its detective branch for conducting a drive without following due procedures.

They are Sub-Inspector Amirul Islam, Assistant Sub-Inspector Jahirul Islam, and constables Golam Samdani, Sohel Mohammed Omar Faruk and Shah Alam.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Arafat said they took the action following a general diary filed by Nasim Ahmed, owner of a business establishment at Lancet Building, alleging that some DB men conducted the drive in his office  on June 8 harassing him over a dispute with his sister's husband. CMP found that the five had conducted the drive without informing their high officials, and without wearing uniforms, both of which are mandatory.
