4 ‘traffickers’ held in Dhaka

Law enforcers claimed to have detained four human traffickers from Motijheel area of Dhaka and seized a thousand passports from them.

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) made the detentions around 11:00pm last night, Abdul Kahar Akond, a special superintendent of CID, told The Daily Star.

They were detained in a raid launched at the office of a travel agency in Motijheel, he said. Many of the passports seized were said to be counterfeit.

Further details will be revealed in a press conference later in the day.
