368 underprivileged students get scholarship
Manabik Shahajya Sangstha (MSS), a non-governmental organisation working to alleviate poverty, yesterday awarded scholarships to some 368 underprivileged students for the year 2017 under its annual scholarship programme.
The programme "MSS-Medha Bikash Uddog" was launched in 2005 to help underprivileged students pursue their education.
Yesterday, a total of 222 female students were given Tk 18.21 lakh and 146 male students Tk 12.12 lakh at a ceremony at the Daily Star Centre.
Executive Vice Chairman of Microcredit Regulatory Authority Amalendu Mukherjee was present at the programme as the chief guest.
Among others, MSS President Feroz M Hasan and ANM Imam Hasanat executive director of MSS were also present.
