Three die in road crashes

Three people were killed in two road accidents in Chittagong and Tangail yesterday.

Our staff correspondent from Chittagong reports, an unidentified man, aged around 55, was killed and around 25 passengers were injured as a Chittagong-bound passenger bus collided head-on with a covered van on Chittagong-Dhaka highway at Chhoto Kumira in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong yesterday morning.

The injured were rushed to different hospitals of the upazila and the city.

Our Tangail correspondent reports, two people, including a woman, were killed and another was injured when a truck ran them over on Tangail-Mymensingh highway in Muliain Kalihati upazila around 11:30pm on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Azhar Ali, 35, of Mulia village and Jamela Begum, 45, of the same village, said police sources.

The injured, Badsha Miah, 50, of the same village, was admitted to Tangail Medical College Hospital.
