3 including cop mugged in capital

At least three people, including a traffic constable, had fallen prey to mugging in the capital's Sayedabad early yesterday.

A group of muggers swooped on the constable, Mobarak Hossain, 32, and his wife Sumi Akhter, 25, near Sayedabad bus terminal area around 6:00am when they were waiting for a rickshaw to reach home, police said.

The muggers stabbed in the leg of Mobarak and snatched his mobile phone sets, money and Sumi's earrings, police said.

The criminals also beat up a Dhaka College student, Rashed, there and looted his valuables, police added.
