3 food inspectors get show cause notice over OMS sale scam

The Chittagong District Food Controller yesterday issued show cause notices against three food inspectors for their alleged irregularities in distributing Open Market Sale (OMS) rice among dealers.

Md Sahabuddin, Md Shahenewaj and Surajit De were taking bribes from aspiring dealers for allocating them OMS foods, said food office sources.

The three were asked to submit their replies within two days and an investigation is going on simultaneously, said District Food Controller Ashraful Alam.
