Two unidentified youths, aged between 25 and 30, died after falling off the roof of a Jamalpur-bound commuter express train yesterday.
The incident took place near the outar signal of Dhirashram railway station in Gazipur, said Sub-inspector Rakibul Islam of Joydebpur Railway Police Outpost.
They might have fallen off due to the huge crowd on the roof of the train, said the police officer.
As Eid-ul-Fitr is imminent, hundreds of thousands of people are going to their village homes by train to celebrate Eid with their dear ones.
But due to ticket crisis and limited accommodation many chose to board on the roof of the train.
