1st Bangladesh-India coordinated naval patrol tomorrow
The first ever Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) by the navies of Bangladesh and India will be conducted in Chittagong tomorrow.
The CORPAT will be jointly inaugurated by the chiefs of the two navies.
Two Indian Navy ships and aircraft will participate in the CORPAT from Chittagong.
On Sunday, Admiral Sunil Lanba, chief of naval staff of Indian Navy and also the chairman of chiefs of staff committee, arrived in Dhaka on an invitation from Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed, chief of naval staff of Bangladesh Navy.
Admiral Lanba visited Bangladesh in November 2017 to attend the IONS Multilateral Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise (IMMSAREX), organised by the Bangladesh Navy under the aegis of Indian Ocean Naval Symposium.
