14 held while trying to go to India

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 14 Bangladeshi women and men while they were trying to go to India illegally through Gatipara border area in Benapole of Jessore early yesterday.

The arrestees are from different areas of Jessore, Narail and Kustia districts.

Nazrul Islam, camp commander of Benapole's BGB check post, said on secret information, a BGB team conducted a drive in the area and arrested five women and nine men, who were trying to go to India without valid documents.

BGB personnel later handed them over to Benapole Port police.
