Charges pressed against 7 in Bogra double murder case
Charges have been pressed against seven accused in the case for killing two security guards of a multinational medicine distribution company in the district town on August 1 last year.
Sub-inspector Abdur Razzak, investigation officer (IO) of the case, submitted the charge sheet to Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court, Bogra, on Monday afternoon.
The accused are Golam, 25, son of Khuku Mia of Malgram, Motiur, 26, son of Afsar Ali of Nishindhara, Belal Hossain, 32, son of Abul Hossain of Phulbari, Rakib, 24, son of Badsha Mia, Jewel, 23, son of Mesher Ali, Reza, 23, son of Manik Mia, and Sujan, 22, son of Khuku Mia of Sutrapur of the town.
Two security guards,--Tajul Islam, 26, Russel Mia, 25--of Zuellig Pharma Limited, were hacked to death by the accused at the company's office at Orchid House in the town in the early hours of August 1 last year. They (accused) also looted Tk 5.85 lakh from the office.
Masudul Hasan, office-in-charge of Zuellig Pharma Limited, filed a case with Bogra Sadar Police Station, accusing 10 unidentified people the same day.
Of the charge-sheeted accused, Golam, Jewel, Sujan and Motiur are now in jail while the rest have been absconding since the incident.
Golam, Jewel, Sujan and Motiur had earlier confessed to killing the security guards before the court under Section 164, the investigation officer said.
