Celebrate Sakrain

14 January marks the celebration of Poush Sankranti. Popularly known as Sakrain in Old Dhaka, the day is celebrated with kite flying and fireworks. It is a time when you go the rooftops with your friends and enjoy the kite flying, or kite fighting, where opponents try to cut out the strings of other kites and bring them down.

Come night-time, the skies are adorned with beautiful fireworks. Meanwhile, on the ground, fire spinners and fire-spitters keep the festival alive.
