Cech in 7th heaven
Czech Republic international goalkeeper Petr Cech was named Czech player of the year for the seventh time on Monday.
The 31-year-old Chelsea star -- capped 106 times since making his international debut in 2002 -- beat Tomas Rosicky, who plays for Chelsea's Premier League rivals Arsenal, and Vladimir Darida, who plays for Bundesliga outfit Freiburg, in a vote by coaches, players and club officials.
"It is an award so therefore one never wants to let ones standards slip," said Cech, who was a member of the Chelsea side that won the Europa League last season.
