Caesar added to contingent
Bangladeshi gymnast Quazi Syque Caesar will participate in the Asian Games as gymnastics has been included in Bangladesh's participation list after state minister for youth and sports Biren Shikder intervened.
“The minister asked why Caesar had been excluded from the contingent. He wanted Caesar to be included in the contingent and we have acquiesced to his request, “said Wing Commander Rafiqul Islam, member secretary of the training and development committee of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA).
Gymnastics, along with eight other disciplines which failed to impress at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, were excluded from the Asian Games Contingent by the BOA. However, Caesar's participation in the Asian sporting extravaganza may be his last for Bangladesh in such a high-profile event, if he fails to shine there too.
“Caesar could not do anything positive in the 2012 Olympic Games and in the recent Commonwealth Games. If he fails at the Asian Games in Korea too, we will have to think again about sending him to any such events further,” said Rafiqul.
