Aziz Ahmad CEO of UTC Associates & Co-Founder of CodersTrust participated in a special Vatican technology summit called 'The Common Good in the Digital Age' as a Key Note Speaker. Held from September 26 to 28, the event was hosted in Vatican City and supported by Pope Francis. The summit responded to recent developments in the area of digital technologies, especially concerning artificial intelligence which has generated global debates on social, ethical and political implications of these changes.
In his papal encyclical on the Digital age, Pope Francis expressed his concerns. "Humanity has entered a new era in which our technical prowess has brought us to a crossroads, on one hand, we are beneficiaries of two centuries of enormous waves of change, the outcome of which has triggered a new digital era which has countless benefits to humanity," he said.
Mr Ahmad provided a presentation on the "Future of Work" and participated in a panel discussion on September 27. The session was moderated by Ms Anna Biondi (International Labour Office - Geneva, Switzerland); while Mr Ahmad w joined on the panel by Mr Oliver Roethig (UNI Europa - Brussels, Belgium) and Mr Malcom Wright (Diginex-, Hong Kong).
