Businessman shot dead in Ctg

Unidentified miscreants shot dead a businessman in Satkania upazila of Chittagong in the wee hours today.

Ziaur Rahman, 32, was a bookshop owner at Bomanghat in Puranagar union of the upazila, reports our Chittagong correspondent.

Rahman was returning home on his motorcycle when unknown criminals shot him in the back, leaving him dead on the spot.

Locals rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him 'brought dead'.

Police later sent the body to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, Khaled Hossain, officer-in-charge of Satkania Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Ziaur was not involved in politics, and had no known enemy, the OC said, adding that police are looking into the murder.
