TNT adjusts rates for 2016
TNT Bangladesh, an associate of delivery company TNT, will adjust its prices from January 1, 2016 for express and economy express products. The average price increase of 5 percent will be applied to all customers in line with contract terms, the company said in a statement yesterday.
The price increase is kept at a minimum for price developments and is lower than the rate of current inflation in Bangladesh, the 12-month average of which is 6.21 percent, according to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
“Our annual price increase will help us further improve service levels, contributing to our customers' competitiveness,” said Nure Alam, country sales manager at TNT Bangladesh.
“Improving service for customers is central to TNT's strategy. Over the past 12 months, the company has invested significantly in transport and IT infrastructure, which results in better service quality and customer experience,” according to the statement.
In Europe, TNT added flights and road connections and upgraded or opened new facilities in Liege, Eindhoven, Madrid and Swindon.
TNT Bangladesh invested in ensuring an uninterrupted network from Dhaka to Europe since 2013 and offers customers since 2015 an online customer tool—myTNT—to electronically send pick-up request and generate manifests.
On a daily basis, TNT delivers close to one million consignments ranging from documents and parcels to palletised freight. TNT made €6.7 billion in revenue in 2014.
