Seminar on peace in Myanmar held at NSU
A seminar titled "Restoring Peace in Myanmar: Two Years after the Military coup" was held at Syndicate Hall of North South University on Tuesday, said a press release.
The seminar was organised by the Center for Peace Studies of NSU's South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG).
Presided over by Ishrat Zakia Sultana, assistant professor of Political Science and Sociology Department of NSU, the programme was addressed by Shahidul Haque, former foreign secretary and SIPG professorial fellow; Brig Gen Dr M Sakhawat Hossain, senior research fellow of SIPG and former election commissioner; Mahbubul Haque, teacher of Sultan Zainal Abidin University of Malaysia; and Dr Hall Mant, an Australian resident and foreign affairs president of Arakan Rohingya National Organisation.
Besides, Zhao Wai Sue, minister for Health and Education of Myanmar's National Unity Government, participated in the seminar.
Prof SK Taufiq M Haque, director of South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance, delivered the closing speech.
