TCB raises lentil price by Tk 5 per kg
The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), which sells commodities at subsidised rates, has increased the price of lentil by Tk 5 a kg following its hike in the markets.
The state-owned corporation increased the price of lentils to Tk 65 per kg from Tk 60 a kg today to adjust the price with the markets, said Md Humayun Kabir, spokesperson of the TCB.
Meanwhile, the prices of other products – soybean oil, sugar and onion – remained unchanged at Tk 110 per litre, Tk 55 a kg and Tk 30 per kg respectively, according to a press release.
However, the eighth phase of open market sale (OMS) will begin at city, district and upazila level from tomorrow and the operation will continue until February 22, it said.
Some 500 mobile trucks will conduct the OMS operation six days a week except Friday. Of them, about 100 trucks will operate in Dhaka city, Kabir further said.
