Something for all, minister pledges businesses
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has pledged assistance to the businesses and improve the business climate of the country.
“No one will go empty-handed. We will work in a win-win partnership,” he told business leaders at a meeting at NEC Auditoriam, Dhaka, today.
The meeting has been arranged with a focus to improve the ease of doing business in the country, said a press release from the finance ministry.
Leaders of FBCCI, DCCI, MCCI, leather and footwear manufacturers, agricultural businesses, real estate sectors, and government stakeholders attended the meeting.
This is the “first round” of talks initiated by the government with the businessmen after the new government came to power in January.
Bangladesh is pressing hard for luring foreign investment. It seems, they are counting on foreign investment as a key source of growth and development.
A fundamental barrier to foreign investment in Bangladesh is its poor performance in ensuring business climate in the country.
The government has apparently taken the matter seriously and is pressing now for improving the business climate of Bangladesh on priority basis.
