Pharma Aids incurs losses in October-December quarter
Pharma Aids Limited suffered a loss of Tk 23.71 lakh in the second quarter of the 2022-23 financial year owing to a decline in net sales and an increase in the cost of production.
The manufacturer and supplier of pharmaceutical glass ampoules made a profit of Tk 1.73 crore in the October-December quarter of 2021-22.
Thus, the company reported earnings per share of Tk 0.76 in negative for October-December of FY23 against Tk 5.53 in the same quarter a year earlier, according to the unaudited financial statements of the company.
The EPS decreased due to a decline in net sales, the increase in the cost of goods sold and the cost of raw materials, the higher expenses for gas and fuel and the hike in tax expenses, said the company in a filing on the Dhaka Stock Exchange today.
Pharma Aids' profit stood at Tk 38.38 lakh in the first half of FY23, down more than 88 per cent from Tk 3.34 crore in the July-December half of 2021-22.
Accordingly, the EPS was Tk 1.23 in July-December of FY23 against Tk 10.69 in the identical half of FY22.
The net operating cash flow per share was Tk 2.92 in July-December, way lower than Tk 14.56 in the first half of the last financial year.
The NOCFPS decreased due to a fall in the collection from sales, the hike in the payment to suppliers and the spike in tax payment, said the filing.
The net asset value per share slipped to Tk 94.73 on December 31 from Tk 98.83 on June 30.
