Govt prints new notes of Tk 10
The government has printed new notes of Tk 10 to ensure an adequate supply of the notes in the market amid huge demand, Bangladesh Bank said in a notification today.
This new note with the picture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the signature of Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir will not have intaglio or uneven imprint on its front like the existing note of Tk 10.
The new notes will be issued from the Motijheel office of the Bangladesh Bank from April 10 and later from other offices of the central bank, according to the notification.
In this new note, the original colour, design and size of the existing note of Tk 10 have remained unchanged.
The number "10" will remain printed on the upper left corner of the front side of the note and "Bangladesh Bank" in the middle of the note in "white" instead of "red" and the signature of the governor in "reddish-brown" instead of "black".
In addition, other security features on the front side of the note (safety thread, watermark, micro text, etc) and offset printing on the back of the note will remain unchanged.
In addition to these new notes, the currently circulated notes of Tk 10 will also be issued simultaneously as valid banknotes, the central bank said.
