ACI’s profit declines in October-December quarter
ACI Limited reported a fall in profit in the first quarter of the current financial year.
The conglomerate said its consolidated earnings per share (EPS) were Tk 1.96 in October-December of 2022-23 against Tk 2 in the same quarter a year earlier, according to the unaudited financial statements.
ACI suffered losses in the July-December half of the financial year.
Its consolidated EPS was Tk 1.79 negative for the first half of FY23 compared to Tk 5.25 in July-December of FY22.
The consolidated EPS decreased due to a spike in the costs driven by the currency devaluation, the hike in energy prices, higher import prices and the increased financing costs that adversely affected the overall profitability of the group, said ACI in a filing on the Dhaka Stock Exchange today.
The consolidated net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) plummeted to Tk 80.36 negative in July-December of FY23 from Tk 5.34 in the first half of FY22.
"The consolidated NOCFPS decreased mainly due to the investments in working capital to facilitate business growth in the coming months," said the filing.
Consolidated net asset value per share was Tk 128.29 on December 31, 2022, and Tk 135.22 on June 30, 2022.
