BSTI sues 7 Ctg factories
The Bangladesh Standards Testing Institution yesterday sued seven factories for manufacturing electronic products without proper standard testing and using the BSTI logo illegally.
A team of BSTI Chittagong conducted drives in different areas of Chittagong from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Six cases were filed with the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate and one was with the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, said a press release from BSTI.
The factories are Huq Fan Industries, Airmate Goody Electrical Industries Ltd, BE Metal Industries, MK Electronics, BM Industries, Global Energy Assembling Plant Ltd and NEC Super and Cables.
Of them six are situated in the city's Hamjarbagh, Kalurghat, Panchlaish, Fakirhat areas and one in Hathazari upazila.
BSTI Chittagong Assistant Director KM Hanif said sub-standard electronic products often lead to electric short circuit and causes fire.
