BSF returns 5 Bangladeshis
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday night returned the five Bangladeshi nationals, who were detained by the Indian border guards from near Baliaghat border in Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj the same day.
BSF members handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) after a flag meeting around 8:00pm, said Subedar Golam Rouf, BGB camp commander.
The returnees are, Shahid Ullah, 34, son of Abdur Rahman, Aminul Islam, 35, son of Anwar Uddin, Riton Mia, 28, son Reaz Uddin, Din Islam, 32, son of Abdur Rashid and Shahid Mia, 26, son of Hadis Mia. All the returnees hail from Lalghat village of the upazila.
On Wednesday, Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members detained the Bangladeshi nationals from the Baliaghat bordering area of the upazila around 3:30am.
BGB sources said, the detainees might have stepped into Indian territory mistakenly for collecting fire-woods.
