BSF picks up youth from border

Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) arrested a Bangladeshi youth on Jagdal border in Baliadangi upazila early yesterday.

The arrestee is Golam Hossain, 28, son of Sher Ali of Kher Bosti in the same upazila.

Major Touhid-bin-Ishaq, Intelligence officer of BGB Thakurgaon Sector, said a BSF patrol team from Kukradaha camp arrested Golam around 4:00am when he entered the border area to bring his cattle.

The arrestee was later handed over to Goalpukur Police Station under Uttar Dinajpur district of Pashchimbanga on charge of intrusion.

BGB sent a letter to BSF to return the youth, said the major.
