BSF picks up two from Thakurgaon border
Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) picked up two Bangladeshi nationals from Molani border point in Haripur upazila of the district yesterday.
They were identified as Abdul Malek, 35, son of Altaf Hossain of Geruadangi village, and Komission Ali, 20, son of Dulu Mohammad of Beldangi village in the upazila.
BGB and local people said a BSF patrol team of Phulbari camp picked up the two from near border pillar No 369 while they were returning home from India at around 9:00am.
Lt Coln Tusher-bin-Yunus told this correspondent over cellphone that they sent a letter to BSF yesterday noon, asking it for holding a flag meeting over the issue.
A company commander level flag meeting was held at zero point of the border in the afternoon. In the meeting, the BSF official told its Bangladesh counterpart that they arrested the two for their illegal entry into India.
The arrestees were handed over to Goalpukur Police Station under Uttar Dinajpur district of Pashchimbanga, the official said.
