Brother has no confidence in Rab report
Brother of the slain Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky yesterday challenged the charge sheet of the Milky murder case submitted earlier by Rapid Action Battalion for dropping the names of seven accused including two prime accused.
Maj Rashedul Haque Khan said he filed the petition with a Dhaka court and also expressed no confidence in the charge sheet, as seven names were dropped although witnesses and other accused during different investigations had mentioned their names.
The two main accused are Zahidul Islam Tipu, general secretary of Awami League Motijheel thana unit, and Wahidul Alam Arif, general secretary of Jubo League Dhaka city (south) unit.
Five others whose names were dropped are are Aminul Islam, Ahhakam Ullah, Enamul Haque, Mahbubul Haque Hirok and Masum Uddin Ahmed.
Rashedul appealed to the court to make necessary steps for further investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department.
The court fixed June 17 for hearing the petition.
On April 15, Kajemur Rashid, assistant superintendent of police of Rapid Action Battalion -1, pressed charges against 11 people, mostly Jubo League men, in the case.
Six of the accused are in jail and five are absconding.
Milky, an organising secretary of Jubo League Dhaka city (south) unit, was gunned down on last July 30 in the capital's Gulshan.
Rashedul filed the case the same night against 11 named and four to five unnamed people.
