Boy killed after abduction

The seven-year-old son of a union parishad member was strangled at Shawail village in Adamdighi upazila of Bogra Thursday night five days after he had been abducted.
Police recovered the body from a pond near Muroil Eidgah at the village yesterday morning.
Jishan Ahmed, a class II student of Muruil Government Primary School, was son of Bazlur Rahman Bulu, member of Nashratput Union Parishad.
Police and family sources said around 8:00pm on Sunday he was kidnapped from a waz mahfil (Islamic religious meeting).
Since then, the kidnappers had been demanding Tk 50 lakh from Jishan's father, who is also a brick kiln owner, said Adamdighi police Officer-in-Charge Md Nazrul Islam.
As the demand was not met by Thursday, they killed him, he added.
The victim's father filed a case with the police station accusing unidentified miscreants.
