Bombs seized in Chandpur, Chuadanga
Police on Sunday night arrested two people along with eight cocktails and six crude bombs raiding a medicine store in Natun Bazar area of Chandpur town.
The arrestees are shop owner Humayun Kabir, 50, and his son Salamat Bhuiyan, both residents of Madna village in Sadar upazila.
Police said, being tipped off, a team from Chandpur Model police station raided Makka Pharmacy in the area and arrested the two along with the petrol bombs and crude bombs around 7:45pm.
Humayun told police that minutes before the raid, a young man, aged 20-25, came to his shop and requested him to keep a 'gift box' for a while.
In Chuadanga, eight patrol bombs were recovered in the district town yesterday, reports our Kushtia correspondent.
Saleh Uddin Ahmed, Additional Police Superintendent of Chuadanga, said a police team from Chuadanga Sadar police station recovered the bombs kept at a place behind the district session judge's court at about 12.30pm.
In Kushtia, criminals threw a patrol bomb at an office at Chheuria in the outskirts of district headquarters at about 8.30am, leaving four people injured.
Police said two criminals hurled the bomb on the roadside community policing office.
