Bombs hurled at Ashraf’s car, GM Quader’s house
Miscreants hurled three crude bombs at the vehicle of LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam in Tongi, on the outskirt of Dhaka, while four bombs at the Lalmonirhat residence of Commerce Minister GM Quader today.
Ashraf however remains unhurt as the bombs missed target and hit on road, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting witnesses.
The commerce minister was not at his home when the bombs were hurled at his residence, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent.
A caretaker, who was inside the house, escaped unhurt.

Ashraf’s car came under the attack in front of Hossain Market around 8:30am when he was going to visit his constituency in Kishoreganj to submit his nomination paper for the upcoming 10th parliamentary election.
Contacted, Ismail Hossain, officer-in-charge of Tongi Police Station, however denied the bomb attack.

Two out of the four bombs were blasted, said Habibur Rahman, superintendent of police of Lalmonirhat.
Hearing the explosions, Hamidul Islam, caretaker of the residence, went to the balcony and found two other bombs unexploded, the SP said.
The crude bombs were blasted to create panic among the locals, SP Habibur said.
Confirming the attack, Ruhul Amin Dudu, general secretary of Jatiya Party Sadar upazila unit, said blockader might hurl the bombs at GM Quader’s house to frighten locals particularly the JP men.
