BNP warns of 'historic revenge'

Terming the current Sheikh Hasina government "illegal" and "oppressive", the BNP today vowed to take what it called a "historic revenge" against it if it does not stop "killing and forced disappearance".
BNP joint secretary general Rizvi Ahmed issued the warning at a press conference at the party’s headquarters at Nayapaltan in Dhaka.
Alleging that leaders and activists of the BNP-led 19-party are being killed, abducted and made victims of forced disappearances, Rizvi said BNP, as the national force of the country, is fighting against the what he termed a "fascist" government's attacks.
About the ongoing upazila election, the BNP leader said constitution has given adequate power to the Election Commission to conduct polls in a free, fair and neutral manner. But the commission is not taking any effective measures to resist vote rigging, he alleged.
