BNP vows to fight for people’s voting right
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today vowed to restore the people's voting rights through tougher anti-government movement under the leadership of Khaleda Zia.
Asked whether BNP is going through difficult times, Fakhrul said, "Not only BNP, the people of Bangladesh are passing hard times right now as their voting rights have been snatched away."
The BNP spokesperson was talking to media after placing wreaths at the graveyard of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka on the occasion of 36th founding anniversary of the party.
On this very day in 1978, late president Ziaur Rahman floated the party.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia accompanied by her party leaders and activists placed wreaths and offered fateha at the grave of late president Ziaur Rahman around 11:30am.
