BNP’s demo in capital tomorrow
BNP will stage demonstrations at every thana in the capital tomorrow protesting the denial of permission to hold a rally in the city.
The party planned the rally to protest the recent abductions and killings of people across the country.
Tariqul Islam, a standing committee member of the BNP, said they applied to police for permission to organise a rally in Demra, on the outskirts of the city, but police denied the permission.
Speaking at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan head office, he said then the sought permission for Jatrabari and finally for Matuail but police did not give them go-ahead.
