BCL activists beat up JU student

Bangladesh Chhatra League activists of Maulana Bhasani Hall of Jahangirnagar University beat a general student inside his dormitory room early yesterday.
Witnesses said the BCL activists, led by JU unit sub-secretary on mass education Didarul Islam, entered the room of Rezaul Karim Barshan, a student of computer science and engineering department, and beat him with iron rods, pipes and other local weapons.The attackers also took away Barshan's laptop and cellphone, they said.
Barshan was taken to the JU Medical Centre and then shifted to a Savar clinic. He told the news agency that he was asleep when about 10 BCL activists, led by Didar, attacked him.
Didar said they beat Barshan for his affiliation with Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal. He, however, denied snatching Barshan's laptop and mobile.
