Bangladesh defeated Scotland by seven wickets in the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier match at Colombo Cricket Club Ground today.
Batting first after winning the toss, Scotland lost wickets in regular intervals as Bangladesh bowlers didn’t allow them to stitch together any substantial partnerships. In the end Scotland were all out for 140 in 49.1 overs. Kari Anderson was the highest scorer for her side with 28 from 57.
For Bangladesh, Khadija Tul Kubra and Salma Khatun took three wickets each. Salma captured 3-21 while Khadija took 3-31 in 10 overs respectively.
Chasing the below-par total, Bangladesh lost two wickets by the seventh over, but the fourth wicket unbroken stand of 75 in 17.2 overs between Fargana Hoque and Rumana Ahmed took Bangladesh home.
