Shipbreaking worker dies after falling from ship in Sitakunda

A worker of a shipbreaking yard died after falling from a ship in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram this morning.

Injured Tarikul Islam (35), of Bhimpur union of Naogaon district, was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital around 10:00am where doctors declared him dead, hospital sources said.

The incident occurred at Motaleb Steel in Sitakunda upazila at 8:30am today, our Chattogram staff correspondent reports quoting sources.

M Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station, told The Daily Star that they came to know that a worker died at CMCH this morning after falling from a ship at a shipbreaking yard.
