Indonesian submarine tragedy: Foreign Minister expresses sympathy to mourning families

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has expressed his deep condolence over the loss of lives at the tragic disappearance of an Indonesian submarine.

Indonesian officials said debris from a missing submarine was found after the vessel sank as hopes of rescuing 53 sailors on board faded.

In a message sent to the Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno L P Marsudi, he conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the Indonesian government and to the people of Indonesia.

Momen expressed his deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved families and hoped that the grief struck relatives of the fallen crew members of the submarine will have the strength to bear with the tragedy.

He prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls.
