HSC, equivalent results without exams: bills passed in parliament
Three separate amendment bills were passed in the parliament, paving the way for publishing HSC and equivalent results without holding public exams during the pandemic.
Education Minister Dipu Moni placed the bills -- Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Bill, 2021, Bangladesh Vocational Education Board (Amendment) Bill, 2021 and Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board (Amendment) Bill, 2021), which were passed by voice vote this noon.
The amendments were made to "Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance 1961", "Bangladesh Vocational Education Board Act 2018" and "Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board Act 2020".
As per the existing laws, there is no provision to publish the results of HSC and equivalent exams without holding examination.
If it is not possible to hold examinations at the end of intermediate and secondary stage and any other stage due to pandemic, epidemic and Act of God or any other inevitable circumstances as determined by the government, it will announce to publish results through issuing an official gazette, said bills.
The government moved the bill as it cannot hold and publish HSC and equivalent exams due to the ongoing pandemic.
