DU deans' committee recommends holding final exams online from July 1 if Covid-19 situation doesn't improve

DU B unit question

The deans' committee of Dhaka University today recommended holding final examinations -- of all academic years -- online from July 1 if the current Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh does not improve by June.

The recommendation came from a virtual meeting of the committee comprising deans of all faculties and directors of different institutions, pro vice-chancellors and with VC Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair this afternoon.

Dhaka University's Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal confirmed the matter to our DU correspondent this evening.

Deans of all faculties have been asked to prepare a faculty-based strategy within two weeks, and how the exams will be taken, said Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal.

The deans' committee's recommendation will be finalised at tomorrow's meeting of the university's academic council through discussion, VC Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman told this correspondent.
