Sylhet-1: BSD candidate seeks 'one vote, one note'

Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) candidate for Sylhet-1 constituency Pronob Paul is conducting his electoral campaign with the party's traditional slogan “One vote, one note”.

In the slogan, the word "note" refers to money. During his campaign, the candidate is asking people to vote for his electoral symbol “ladder” and also financially support the campaign by donating.

Carrying leaflets and holding a box to collect money, the candidate and his supporters are conducting electoral campaign at Madina Market, Amberkhana, Lakkatora Tea Estate and some other areas of the city, and the Sadar upazila.

Pronob Paul described the policy as an awareness initiative -- so that people can understand the money to elect a candidate should be spent by the people, obligating the candidate to serve them after being elected.

“In Bangladesh, candidates invest money legally and illegally to win the poll, and after winning, they serve their own purpose,” he said.

The candidate said, “When people support candidates with money, and the candidates win the poll by their vote, they will be indebted

to the people. We believe that the people will be aware of the fact soon.”
