Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is fully prepared to ensure a violence-free general election, its chief Asaduzzaman Mia said today.
Adequate law enforcers will be on duty in each of the total 2,113 polling centres across Dhaka city, the DMP commissioner told reporters.
“We have set up four control rooms in the city from where we will coordinate the entire security system during the election,” the DMP boss added.
DMP detectives are active in collect any advance tips regarding possible anarchy, and cyber teams are engaged in preventing online rumours, he added.
“We have taken all measures so that nobody can threaten the voters in any ways. We are confident that we can prevent any untoward sitution” the DMP boss added.
He was speaking to the media after visiting a voting centre at Dhaka’s Willes Little Flower School & College, according to DMP news.
